White Sands National Monument

The drive to White Sands was beautiful! We had to drive up into the mountains and then come back down on the other side to reach the White Sands. When we were nearing the top of the mountains, we looked through a clearing, and you could see the "sea" of white down below - at least 30 miles or so in the distance.

When we arrived, the sand looked as white as snow. Had we not been wearing short sleeves and bare feet, we could have made some great Christmas card pictures! It was nice and warm that day, and we had a good time hiking through the sand. This was my favorite part of the trip!

These are very cool pictures! I've never gone out west before but it sure looks fun!
