The Catch-Up Post

Since my last post, we've been quite busy around here. Two weeks ago, I was spending time cleaning out for a yard sale and preparing for Amelia's 4th birthday. Last week was spent in Pigeon Forge, TN, where Madison was playing in the SEAA Fast Pitch World Series.

Amelia had a great time at her family party on Saturday the 18th. We had our yard sale that morning, and then Amelia had been invited to attend the birthday party of her friend, Catherine. It was a princess/pirate party, so Amelia finally got to wear her princess costume that I picked up on sale at Cracker Barrell last year after Halloween. She decided to continue wearing the costume for her party later that evening and played the part of the birthday princess very well!

After church the next day, I spent the afternoon washing clothes and getting packed up for our trip to Tennessee. Brad was unable to get off work the first part of the week, so my mother and aunt went with me and the kiddos up there on Monday morning. On Thursday morning, Brad, my dad, and his dad (who drove in from Texas last week) met up with us at the ball park. After the game, we had a birthday lunch for Amelia (since it was officially her birthday that day), and then we went back to the condo for birthday cake and ice cream. My mom, dad, and aunt then returned home, and the rest of us came home Saturday. We didn't do so well at the tournament, but we had a great time at the condo, which had an indoor water park with water slides. Fun!

Paw Paw (Brad's dad) is spending this week with us. We went shopping on Monday, bowling yesterday, and I think he's taking everyone to the movies today. Matthew and I will probably stay home - I need to catch up on some house work and that seems like a good opportunity since Matthew is at an age where he doesn't exactly want to sit still and be quiet in a movie theater. Brad's mom will be flying in to Birmingham on Saturday, and they'll both stay another week before driving home the next Saturday. Madison is having all four wisdom teeth removed on Monday (please say a prayer for her as she's pretty nervous), so next week will probably not be too busy. I hope to start school the following Monday - we'll see!

Here's some pictures from the past few weeks ----

Amelia wanted to try out Matthew's baby bed. I'm not sure what Matthew was doing, but I thought his expression was hilarious!

Madison straightened Amelia's hair, and she looked like a totally different child.
Amelia was quite pleased with the end result.

Amelia feeding Matthew.....I was doing something in the kitchen and returned to find this.

We met up with some friends at McIntosh Reserve in Whitesburg. Here's Cari and Amelia enjoying the water. (Amelia appears to be flying.)

Another comical picture of Amelia and Matthew - I guess the flash was too much!

Amelia enjoying her birthday supper. We grilled hamburgers, but all she wanted
was the potato salad and baked beans - and of course the homemade
chocolate ice cream that followed!

Trying on her new Sperry's from Aunt Angela.

After the last game, some of our team met up at The Old Mill in Pigeon Forge. We had to wait 1.5 hours, but it was well worth it. The girls got a little silly while they were waiting.

Pool time!

While waiting at The Old Mill, Cari discovered this bonnet (Amelia had to have one, too). On our way home Saturday, we drove through Cade's Cove and took some old fashioned photos. (BTW, we saw three bears [but no Goldilocks] while driving through!)

I loved seeing all these photos! Oh, and Amelia looks about 8 years old with her hair straightened - wow!
